Music Director

Jim Littleford is a professional trumpet player, teacher, and conductor in Vancouver. After completing a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of British Columbia, Jim attended graduate school in Southern California. He has been a member of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra since 1981. Jim has played with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the CBC Vancouver Chamber Orchestra and numerous ballet and touring shows, including "Les Misérables", "Phantom of the Opera" and "Showboat". Jim has been on faculty at the Vancouver Academy of Music since 1978, and the University of British Columbia since 1985.

As a conductor, he is the founder and Music Director of the Little Mountain Brass Band (1995). Jim is currently Music Director of the Summer Pops Youth Orchestra after having been its assistant conductor since 1993, and co-conductor since 1997. In 2003, Jim assumed conducting duties with the Delta Concert Band.

As a music copyist and typesetter, Jim enjoys the success of running a music preparation business.
